Our Story

There's something magical about watching a garden evolve—not just in size, but in personality. Welcome to our page inspired by my garden's transformation, where curiosity and experimentation have taken center stage over the years. What began as a modest herb patch has blossomed into a vibrant space filled with tomatoes, peppers, and even a few surprises. The Damren Farm's approach is refreshingly intuitive—taking what we love to eat and letting nature lead the way.

This journey began in February 2021, when we purchased the property as our very first home. What we found was a landscape buried beneath neglect—overgrown, weatherworn, and craving attention. But we saw potential in every vine, every fallen fence post, every forgotten corner. Bit by bit, season by season, we've worked to bring the land back to life—restoring the soil, rebuilding the gardens, and breathing love into the walls of the house until it truly felt like home.

The farm isn't just powered by compost and elbow grease—it's joyfully overseen by our furry farm hands, Louie and Teddy. Our gentle 9-year-old Saint Bernard takes his role as garden supervisor very seriously, appointing himself chief harvest taste tester, while 5-year-old Teddy, the ever-curious Newfoundland, spends his days in the garden chewing down sticks for mulch. Between pruning assistance (mostly accidental) and sun-drenched naps in the garden rows, their presence adds warmth, laughter, and a whole lot of slobbery charm to everyday chores. Keeping a watchful eye over it all are Wren and Warbler—our two orange tabby brothers, named in honor of our love of birdwatching. They've appointed themselves the farm's chief inspectors, weaving between garden rows and supervising operations with the quiet confidence only cats can pull off.

The farm has grown well beyond the garden beds. A cheerful flock of chickens roams the property, rewarding us daily with the most beautiful, colorful eggs you've ever seen—each one a small reminder of what good husbandry looks like. And tucked onsite, our beehives hum with life, producing honey that carries the flavor of everything blooming around them. From beeswax to the table, it's one of the farm's most rewarding endeavors.

Homesteading isn't just about quantity—it's about connection. Each product and recipe exude passion, with ingredients that travel from soil to workspace. It's a living pantry, a place where flavor begins at the root. Every new addition brings fresh possibilities to the plate—and a deeper appreciation for where food comes from.

The Damren Farm journey is a reminder that growing food isn't just practical—it's personal. It's not about having the perfect layout or the most exotic plants—it's about growing what makes you happy and learning through trial and error, embracing imperfection, and finding joy in the process.

Homesteading is more than a hobby—it's a relationship. Let each new plant become a reflection of not only your tastes, but your creativity and willingness to grow.
