Finding Stillness in North Truro: A Coastal Retreat for the Soul
For me, Cape Cod isn’t just a destination—it’s a tradition. Every year, I return to the Cape, where the air is salty and the sun kisses your skin. This year, we ventured to the tip top of the Cape. Nestled between the dunes and the Atlantic, North Truro offers a gentle rhythm that resets the soul. Mornings begin with waves brushing the shore, the scent of salt hanging in the air, and long beach walks where I search for perfect seashells, lost in thought and tide.
Afternoons are for fresh oysters and sweet shrimp from Cape Tip Seafood—briny and bright, best enjoyed with the sun warm on your shoulders. I often settle into a porch chair with a copy of Hell Town by Casey Sherman, the sea breeze ruffling the pages as I lose myself in history and mystery. Later, a visit to Truro Vineyards or a quiet moment watching the lighthouse beam stretch across the water reminds me: time moves differently here.
North Truro doesn’t demand your attention—it simply offers refuge. It’s where the ocean doesn’t roar, but whispers. Where the wind lingers and the heart finds stillness. And where, each year, I rediscover what it means to feel truly at ease.
Let North Truro be your annual invitation to return—not just to the Cape, but to yourself.
